Pizza is always fun to make whether it be for play or dinner! Playdoh is a great tool to use for learning and dramatic play. Learn how to create a pizza parlor with playdoh below. Print your own pizza recipe cards to play along with.
Here is what you will need to create your own Playdoh Pizza Parlor:
- Basic Salt Dough or Playdoh
- Items that resemble pizza toppings such as:
- Buttons
- Sequins
- Pom Poms
- Pipe Cleaners
- Paper Shapes
- Shredded Paper
Start by making this basic salt dough recipe. Mix together 2 cups of salt, 2 cups of flour, and 1 cup of water. Knead your dough on a floured surface until it is no longer sticky. This will become your pizza play-dough.
Gather items to create your toppings. Follow examples from the cards to resemble your toppings. Cheese, peppers, mushrooms, olives, and pepperonis. Pipe cleaners, pom poms, paper, and buttons are all great items to use.
Use a ball of dough to create your crust. Press it down to form a circle. Draw a card from the stack of recipe cards and create a pizza with the toppings shown. You may make an olive, red pepper, and cheese pizza!
Or a pepperoni, green pepper, and cheese pizza!
